About

Marcus is a salaryman by day, parent and husband in the evening and weekends, and a photographer…. whenever he can squeeze in the time. Without photography his world would be somewhat out of balance. It’s essential. A bit like air, water and good beer and wine.

Marcus enjoys almost any type of photography, but is perhaps happiest of all when photographing nature – particularly macro using the Canon MP-E65 lens. He has taken photographs in his home country of the UK and further afield in Japan, Hong Kong, Morocco, Istanbul and the USA.

He shoots Canon (mainly a 5d MkII with some nice glass including the TSE 24mm II and Zeiss 35mm), and more recently Fuji – in the form of the excellent X-E1 with some superb Fujinon glass including the amazing 56mm F/1.2.  He has also diverged into the world of film for a bit of variety – a wonderful Rolleicord V TLR.

He has won travel photograph of the year at Cambridge Camera Club, had images published in My Japan (in support of the Japanese tsunami crisis) and Photography Monthly and has rather randomly had an image used on the most popular daytime TV show in the USA (it’s a long story).

He has some good and talented buddies who provide encouragement and inspiration:
