I’ve been to Barcelona once before in 2004. At the time my wife was pregnant with our first child so whilst we enjoyed our short break a lot, much of the delicious food was off the cards sadly (chorizo, seafood etc), and we had to take the sight-seeing gently.
I’ve just returned from a business trip to Barcelona and decided to get there on Sunday midday (which meant a 0400am wake up) so I could revisit something of the place before crazy 16 hr working days. I packed the Fuji X-E1, 35mm and 8mm Samyang fisheye for a walkabout. I didn’t take the photography too seriously (I was also with a work colleague). Nevertheless, we walked miles around from the Northwest of the City, down to the Olympic Park, and up the Ramblas to Sagrada Familia. It was a beautiful sunny day, and a pleasure to have the time simply to stroll around and soak up the atmosphere and the sights.
Oh – and the food was beautiful (we did a bit of a tapas bar crawl to stoke up on energy).
